noHuman Team 4.1 to 4.4: what changed since the 4.0 release

Windows is back, a Work panel shows what each noHuman did and its tokens per task, you choose how long approvals last, and replies can hold charts and forms.

Since 4.0, noHuman Team has returned to Windows and gained a Work panel that shows what each noHuman did. noHuman Team 4.4 adds the tokens each task used and lets you choose how long each approval lasts. In 4.4, your noHumans can reply with charts, diagrams and forms you fill in.

Available in noHuman Team 4.4 for Mac, with Windows following. Features from 4.1 to 4.3 are live on Mac and Windows.

Install noHuman Team 4.4 or read the 4.4.0 release notes.

What changed between 4.0 and 4.4?

Six groups, each with a longer post in this series:

Can I see what each noHuman did, and what it cost?

Yes. Select Work next to Profile in any chat. Since 4.3, the panel lists requests waiting for you, current work and the last 7 days of finished tasks, grouped by project. Open a task for its timeline and the files it produced. A leader's Work adds what each person under it is doing.

noHuman Team 4.4 puts a token count on each task. Hover over it for input, output and the share reused from cache. Token use · last 7 days ranks the tasks with bars and keeps a separate line for calls not tied to a task. A leader sees each direct report's tokens for the week. Activity → Usage counts noHumans on ChatGPT and other models through OpenCode, so a mixed Claude and ChatGPT team fits on one page.

Say a producer noHuman spent the week on a video series. Work can show each video as a task under the series' project, and the token list shows which one used the most tokens. The noHumans fill in Work themselves, so open the files to judge the result. The dashboard guide covers each section.

What happens when a noHuman hits its plan's usage limit?

It pauses, shows "waiting for quota until" a time, and queues its messages. In 4.4, moving it to another model ends the pause at once and the queue goes out. If the new model is capped too, the noHuman waits for that provider's reset and keeps the queue.

My own team hit this on 24 October. I moved the Executive Producer, which leads my content team, to another provider, and it kept waiting out the old provider's window with each message stuck behind it.

Before a limit hits, you lose fewer tokens to noHumans talking in circles. Since 4.1.7, a message several hops into a noHuman-to-noHuman chain, with no real work in between, waits for Continue. In Team settings → AI models → Helper model, you pick one small model for the Archivist, heartbeat checks and loop checks. Since 4.3, the pair's leader decides about a paused exchange, and the question reaches you when no leader stands over both.

Which decisions stay mine, and how long does an approval last?

Questions about payments, publishing under your name, your own accounts, passwords, deleting data and agreements come to you, even when a teammate started the work (4.2). A noHuman can ask for an approval with a narrow scope and an end date, such as one action for one product or store. You can revoke it under Needs you → All requests → Approvals you granted, and a permission card offers Change autonomy when a request needs more freedom than the noHuman's mode allows.

In 4.4, you pick the length on the card: the noHuman's suggestion, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 30 days, or a date up to 30 days ahead. A line under the choice says when the approval ends. On 25 October one of my noHumans asked with the 3-day default and told me approvals always last three days, so I approved a week of posts twice. noHumans now propose a length that covers the whole job. Approving on the computer and the phone at the same moment keeps one approval.

Two 4.3 controls sit on top. Safety → Forbidden blocks the actions you pick, such as running commands or installing skills, in every autonomy mode. Rules you write in your own words go to the noHuman as instructions. The app enforces only the blocked actions. Leads can propose changes to a teammate's name, role or job description, and you approve each one, with Undo in Approvals → History. See the Needs you section of the dashboard guide for the cards.

Can a noHuman show me a chart instead of a wall of text?

Yes, in 4.4. A reply can hold a diagram (flowchart, org chart, timeline, Gantt chart and more), a bar, line, area or pie chart, number tiles, progress bars or a form. Show the numbers opens the exact values, and you can enlarge a diagram. A block that fails to draw shows the reason and what the noHuman wrote.

Ask your producer how this week's videos are going, and it can answer with a progress bar per video. If it needs several settings for the next batch, it can send a form with a slider for clip length, a choice of tone and a captions switch. Send posts your choices as an ordinary message from you, and that message is all a form can do. Each noHuman's instructions tell it to ask about publishing, payments, accounts and deleting in a question card.

Telegram, notifications, chat lists, search and Copy get a readable text version, where a chart becomes its numbers. 4.4 fixes two file views as well: video and audio play in Library → Work files and Shared with teams, and Mermaid diagrams in Markdown files draw instead of showing an empty box.

Do I still need a terminal, and does it run on Windows?

No terminal, and yes. Windows installers returned with 4.1.2, and 4.3.0 runs on Windows 10/11 and on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Desktop click and type on Windows is experimental. A fresh install opens the setup wizard, which resumes after a restart (4.1.3). Install and continue installs missing AI software inside the app (4.1.4). Since 4.3, you sign in to Claude or ChatGPT once per computer instead of once per noHuman.

Since 4.2.1, the app's background service checks itself after a long night and restarts to bring the team back. 4.3.0 fixed a case where that restart could hang while the old service quit. Quitting the app stops that service, even after a crash. The first message after launch no longer waits 3 to 5 minutes (4.2.0). If something breaks, Help → Open Log Folder opens one log file per day, kept for 14 days (4.3). The setup guide and troubleshooting page have the details.

What else can my team do since 4.0?

  • Browsers (4.2 and 4.3). On public websites, a noHuman clicks, types and scrolls at a human pace. Each noHuman can keep up to 5 saved browsers, one per account, with 2 open at once, and Google sign-in works in them. See the Browser tab.
  • Coding helpers (4.3). A noHuman hands coding work to Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode, up to 3 at a time with a queue. Gemini and Pi are new and less tested. See coding delegation.
  • Teamwork (4.1.7 and 4.2). Follow-ups on delegated work survive a restart, and a leader sees what a worker is doing before it follows up.
  • Linked teams (new in 4.3). You can link teams on the same computer, so their top leaders can message each other, hand over errands and share one folder.
  • Search and files (4.1.1 to 4.2.1). Search one chat or all of a team's chats, open files beside the conversation, and right-click selected text to ask about it or save it to Memory.

How do I update to 4.4, and do I keep my team?

Choose Check for Updates in the app's menu, or install 4.4 from the install page. Your teams, conversations, Memory and workspace stay outside the app bundle, so replacing the app keeps them. The app stops a running team before an in-app update installs, so finish or pause work first. What's new lists each release since 4.0.

Quick answers

Is noHuman Team 4.4 out for Windows?

Not yet. 4.4 ships for Mac first, and the Windows installer follows. Until then, Windows users can run 4.3.0.

Is a token count the same as my bill?

No. Activity → Usage turns token counts into costs from reported amounts and price-table estimates, and it says those costs are not your subscription bill.

Does Linked teams connect two computers?

No. It links teams on the same computer.

Can I see Work and charts on my phone?

The mobile companion has the same Work view, approval choice and charts. Its iOS and Android builds are prepared for store release, with no public download yet.
