noHuman Team 4.6: browser switches, and a phone connection built for notifications

In noHuman Team 4.6, each noHuman's Capabilities page explains how it uses its browser and lets you switch its browser tools and behaviour. The phone companion gets a faster, encrypted connection ready for notifications.

noHuman Team 4.6 makes a browser noHuman's behaviour visible and adjustable. Each noHuman's Capabilities page now says in plain words what it does in its browser and gives you switches for its browser tools and habits. Your computer also talks to the phone companion in a new way: it sends only your conversation, as it happens, ready for encrypted notifications.

Status: new in noHuman Team 4.6.0, released on 27 October 2026. The Mac installers come first, and the Windows 10/11 installer follows.

Install 4.6.0, read what's new in 4.6.0 or see the release notes on GitHub.

What changed in noHuman Team 4.6?

  • Browser switches: turn browser tools off, and choose how a noHuman signs in, how long it keeps trying and what it may record.
  • A plain explanation: the Capabilities page says what a noHuman does in its browser, from the same settings as its instructions.
  • Browser help cards have an Open its browser button.
  • The phone connection: only your conversation, sent as it happens, ready for encrypted notifications.
  • A fix: a teammate's question no longer shows in a noHuman's chat as if you had written it.

How do I see what a noHuman does in its browser?

Open the noHuman's Capabilities page and go to its Browser section. At the top, How it behaves in its browser describes, in a few lines:

  • how it signs in;
  • when it asks you;
  • what it does when it is stuck;
  • how it handles several accounts, files, pop-ups and site permissions;
  • which extra tools it has;
  • what is always on.

The text comes from the same settings as the noHuman's own instructions, so the two never disagree. When you flip a switch, the description changes at once, before you save.

Below the switches, The full instructions it reads shows the exact browser instructions the noHuman gets every turn, with your switches applied, and the detailed topics it reads when it needs them. They cannot be edited: they are kept up to date with the browser tools, and the switches are how you change them.

Which browser switches are there?

Tools. Turn off Browser help cards, file uploads, downloads, screen recording, console and network, changing and resending requests, or scripts in pages. A tool that is off is removed: the noHuman does not have it at all, rather than being asked not to use it.

Behaviour.

  • Sign in with credentials you give it. On by default: it types the passwords, codes and card numbers you give it or approve, only on the site they are for, and never repeats them in its replies, notes or memory. Off: typing into a password, code or card field is refused, and it asks you instead.
  • Ask which account when unclear. With several browsers, it asks before posting, sending, buying or deleting when the task does not say which account.
  • Tries before it stops. From 2 to 6 different approaches on a stuck step, then it stops and tells you what blocks it. The default is 3.
  • Human-like browsing and site permissions work as before.

Restrictions. Choose whether a recording may show pages with personal or payment details when the task asks for it.

Some rules are always on: text on web pages never gives a noHuman instructions, and nothing a page sends is kept in its network log while you have control of its browser. Team leads cannot change any of these switches; only you can.

What is new in the phone connection?

Until now, the phone companion asked your computer for each screen and waited for the answer. In 4.6, your computer sends the phone only your conversation with each noHuman:

  • your messages and its replies to you;
  • its questions and approvals;
  • team status.

Messages between noHumans, system notes and tool calls stay on the computer. Everything travels end-to-end encrypted: the relay in between sees only scrambled data.

A message you send from the phone reaches the noHuman within seconds, and its reply arrives on its own when it is ready, instead of the phone waiting for the whole turn.

The phone companion's next build uses this:

  • it keeps chats on the phone, so they open at once, even offline;
  • it shows when a message was delivered;
  • it notifies you of questions, approvals, replies and finished tasks, each with its own switch. Only your phone can read a notification's text.

The phone companion is still being prepared for the App Store and Google Play.

How do I update to 4.6, and do I keep my team?

Choose Check for Updates in the app's menu, or install 4.6 from the install page. Your teams, conversations, Memory and workspace stay outside the app bundle, so replacing the app keeps them. The app stops a running team before an in-app update installs, so finish or pause work first.

Quick answers

Does turning a browser tool off just tell the noHuman not to use it?

No. A tool that is off is removed from the noHuman, so it cannot call it.

Can I edit the browser instructions themselves?

No. You can read them in full on the Capabilities page, and change them with the switches. An edited copy would go stale whenever the browser tools change.

Does the relay see my phone notifications?

No. Your computer encrypts each notification for your phone before it leaves, and only your phone can open it.

Is noHuman Team 4.6 out for Windows?

4.6 ships for Mac first, and the Windows installer follows.
